Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is expanding the ID Buzz Cargo model lineup to include a long-wheelbase version. This increases the cargo volume to 4.4 cubic meters. The second sliding door and the wooden floor are standard features. Prices for the ID Buzz Cargo LWB with 210 kW (286 PS) and rear-wheel drive start at 48,490 euros (net). The version with 250 kW (340 PS) and all-wheel drive is priced at 50,630 euros (net). The premium for the extended version is thus approximately 2,340 euros (net list price).
The VW ID Buzz Cargo LWB offers half a cubic meter more cargo capacity. At 2,458 millimeters, the cargo area is 25 centimeters longer than that of the standard-wheelbase version. The width between the wheel wells is 1.23 meters. Depending on the drivetrain, the maximum payload is up to 700 kilograms (RWD) or 606 kilograms (AWD). The width of the side doors has increased by 19 centimeters, so that a Euro pallet now fits through the sliding door. The Cargo LWB is available as a two- or three-seater. The maximum towing capacity is 1.8 metric tons.
With the new generation of software—which includes the optional Travel Assist featuring traffic light recognition with automatic braking to a complete stop—the Vehicle-to-Load function is also being introduced in the ID Buzz. This feature allows electrical devices to be powered directly from the vehicle’s battery. The high-voltage battery can thus power both external tools, such as circular saws, and other electrical devices. Using an adapter—the Power Socket—connected to the Mode 3 port on the charging socket, continuous operation or charging at 3.0 kW is possible (peak power: 3.6 kW). The Power Socket is available in two versions: with a Schuko plug (household outlet) or as a CEE 230V version (camping outlet).
The ID. Buzz Cargo also features the new “Innovision” infotainment system with a new app store. This allows functions and services to be activated or expanded digitally, flexibly, and tailored to the specific vehicle. The ID. Buzz Cargo’s usability is further enhanced by a multifunction steering wheel with newly designed push buttons. (aum)
