Personnel Shuffles at the VW Group: Sales Teams Are Being Restructured

The Volkswagen Group is reorganizing its central sales and marketing divisions. Effective October 1, 2026, several top executives will move between Volkswagen, Audi, and Škoda. At the same time, Porsche is consolidating its international regions more closely.

Biggest surprise: Volkswagen Executive Board Member for Sales Martin Sander is returning to Audi, where he will take over the Sales and Marketing division in the same role in October. From 1995 to 2022, he held various leadership positions at Audi and will now replace Marco Schubert, who has only been Audi’s Executive Board Member for Sales and Marketing since September 2024 and will now assume responsibility for the North America region within the expanded VW Group Executive Board, reporting directly to Group CEO Oliver Blume.

Sanders’ role at VW as a member of the brand’s Executive Board responsible for Sales, Marketing, and After-Sales will now be taken over by Martin Jahn, who previously held the same position successfully at Škoda. Subject to the necessary approvals, he is also set to join the Škoda Supervisory Board. His position in Mladá Boleslav as a member of the Executive Board responsible for Sales and Marketing, in turn, will be filled by Martina Biene, previously Chairwoman and Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Africa.

Porsche is also moving toward greater regional accountability. The number of sales regions is decreasing from five to four, with Germany becoming part of the Europe region. In addition to leading Porsche Deutschland GmbH, Robert Ader will head the Europe region going forward. Timo Resch will take over the Americas region, while Alexander Pollich will remain responsible for China. Mathias Busse will oversee Porsche Korea as well as overseas and growth markets. With this reorganization, Porsche is dissolving its previous centralized regional departments and aims to shift decision-making closer to the markets. (aum)
