The Range Rover Electric starts at 163,500 euros

With the Range Rover Electric, Land Rover is expanding its top-of-the-line series to include a fully electric powertrain for the first time. Like its sister models, the SUV is manufactured in Solihull, England. To mark its market launch, a curated First Edition is available with exclusive features, painted in Belgravia Green, Santorini Black, or Varesine Blue, which is now available for order in Germany starting at 163,500 euros.

Two electric motors, each with an output of 260 kW, deliver a combined power output of up to 405 kW/550 PS and generate 850 Nm of torque. This is expected to make the electric Range Rover not only virtually silent but also more responsive than previous model variants. JLR states that the maximum range is up to 600 kilometers according to the WLTP. Power is supplied by a 118.5-kWh high-voltage battery in a double-stack configuration. Thanks to 800-volt technology and split charging, it should be possible to charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent at DC fast chargers in about 22 minutes and to add up to 220 kilometers of range in just ten minutes.

The off-road capabilities of this iconic SUV will, of course, remain unchanged. According to the manufacturer, the traction control system responds within 50 milliseconds, and the fording depth remains up to 900 millimeters. A single-pedal mode also supports inclines of up to 45 degrees. Visually, the electric model follows the familiar design language but features an optimized grille, special wheels, and a streamlined underbody. (aum)
