Christian Friedl Takes Over as Head of Production at Porsche

Porsche is carrying out the previously announced generational transition on its Executive Board: Effective September 1, 2026, Christian Friedl (49) has been promoted to head the Production and Logistics division. He succeeds Albrecht Reimold, who is retiring as scheduled after more than ten years as Chief Production Officer.

Friedl is a homegrown executive who most recently headed the Corporate Quality department. Prior to that, he held various leadership roles in Porsche production and within the Volkswagen Group. His career highlights include managing Porsche’s main plant in Zuffenhausen and the Seat main plant in Martorell, Spain. In his new position, Friedl is responsible for the sports car manufacturer’s international production and logistics network. This includes the plants in Zuffenhausen and Leipzig as well as the CKD production facility in Kulim, Malaysia.

A key task is already on the horizon: In Zuffenhausen, the new, electrified 718 model series is to be integrated into the existing 911 assembly line. In the future, this will allow different drive systems to be produced on the same line. (aum)
