Leapmotor: China's Most Successful Electric Car Maker
Leapmotor continues to grow not only in China but also in Germany: In July, the brand set a new sales record in Germany and was the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer with the most registrations for the second consecutive time.
According to the Federal Motor Transport Authority, just under 2,750 Leapmotor vehicles were newly registered in Germany last month. This is not only a new monthly record for the company, but also represents an increase of nearly 330 percent and a market share exceeding one percent for the first time. More than 2,600 of the vehicles sold in Germany were pure electric cars, with the remainder being models equipped with range extenders.
“We continue to gain momentum in Germany and are confident that we will maintain this growth trajectory in the coming months. It is becoming clear that 2026 will be a very strong year for Leapmotor and our dealership partners in Germany,” said Martin Resch, head of Leapmotor Germany, also referring to the ongoing model rollout. Currently, the B05—the brand’s first compact hatchback—is hitting the market, and it will soon be followed by the B03X, a small SUV that is already available for order. (aum)
