Skoda Begins Production of the Peaq
Škoda has begun series production of the new Peaq electric SUV at its main plant in Mladá Boleslav. The new flagship model is manufactured on the same production line as the all-electric Elroq and Enyaq, as well as the Octavia with an internal combustion engine. Since its market launch in June, the Peaq has generated significant interest. By the end of July, Skoda had already received nearly 8,500 orders.
With a length of 4.87 meters and a wheelbase of nearly three meters, the Peaq is the largest vehicle Skoda has produced since joining the Volkswagen Group. Like the Enyaq and Elroq, it is based on the modular electric drive matrix (MEB+), which enables production synergies with both models already built in Mladá Boleslav.
The batteries for the Peaq are also produced at the main plant in the Czech Republic. In the top-of-the-line configuration, the battery delivers a gross capacity of 91 kWh, which is expected to provide a range of more than 640 kilometers. A 63-kWh version (59 kWh net) is also available. Customers can choose between three power levels ranging from 150 kW to 220 kW, with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. (aum)
