The Mazda CX-6e starts at 49,990 euros

Mazda will launch the CX-6e in late summer. The electric crossover is powered by an electric motor on the rear axle that delivers 190 kW (258 PS) and 290 Newton-meters of torque. Power is supplied by a 78 kWh lithium-ion battery, which enables a WLTP range of up to 484 kilometers. The vehicle can be charged at up to 200 kW. Drivers can choose from three driving modes: Normal, Sport, and Individual.

The dashboard is dominated by an ultra-wide 26.45-inch touchscreen with dual-split view, which extends asymmetrically across the center console to the passenger side. Mazda promises a clear menu structure. The central screen is operated using swipe gestures. In addition, key functions can be accessed via steering wheel buttons with four customizable quick-access options.

Driving information is projected onto the windshield via a large head-up display. The voice control system understands natural voice commands in nine languages and allows users to control the climate control, windows, and navigation, among other features. This is complemented by gesture control, which makes it particularly convenient to select preferred routes or music functions, for example. Four preset settings also automatically adjust various comfort and vehicle functions to typical usage scenarios. For example, “Pet Comfort Mode” maintains a constant interior temperature when the driver briefly leaves the vehicle. “Wash Mode” deactivates the windshield wipers, folds in the side mirrors, and automatically closes all windows.

For added comfort in the rear, the Mazda CX-6e features a separate touchscreen display for the second row of seats. This allows passengers to control the climate system, the sunshade for the panoramic glass roof, and the position of the front passenger seat to increase legroom. The 23-speaker audio system includes Bluetooth-enabled speakers in the front headrests. This allows the driver and front passenger to listen to their favorite media, make phone calls, or follow navigation system instructions without using the audio system’s speakers. The “Mazda6e & CX-6e” app offers numerous features for remote control of the vehicle and allows users to share a digital car key with up to three other users.

In the Takumi Plus trim level, the Mazda CX-6e comes standard with digital exterior and interior mirrors. The cameras in the exterior mirrors expand the field of view by 30 percent and improve visibility in poor weather and lighting conditions. The digital interior mirror ensures an unobstructed rear view even when the vehicle is fully loaded. In addition, every trim level comes standard with nine airbags, including one between the front seats.

The base price for the Mazda CX-6e is 49,990 euros. (aum)
