In Augsburg, everything revolves around the rotary piston engine

Fans and enthusiasts of the rotary engine will gather once again in Augsburg on July 25, 2026: Following last year’s success, the “Mazda Classic – Automobil Museum Frey” is once again hosting a major rotary engine gathering. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the grounds of the historic streetcar depot in the city center, the event will feature everything related to the Wankel engine, which remains closely linked to the history of the Japanese automaker to this day. Participants can also look forward to the presentation of a rare RX vehicle from Japan.

The participation fee of 25 euros (28 euros at the door; passengers: 9 euros; children 12 and under free) includes an on-site parking space for a Mazda with a rotary engine, a gift, and admission to the museum. Registration is open until July 20; participation is limited to 80 vehicles for organizational and capacity reasons. The museum is currently hosting the special exhibition “20626,” which focuses on the 626. (aum)
