With the increasing complexity of modern vehicle architectures due to electrification, automation and software, new technologies in the area of chassis & body are becoming an important field of innovation. The supplier Schaeffler sees great market potential for itself in this field. In June, the company will present its new product solutions at the 13th Schaeffler Automotive Symposium in Bühl. The self-imposed claim: intelligent integration of mechatronic solutions for a noticeably better driving and comfort experience.
In the chassis area, the company will be presenting modern electric steering systems such as rear axle steering and steer-by-wire solutions with force feedback actuators as well as new input elements - so-called human-machine interfaces (HMI) - for future vehicle architectures. These technologies improve maneuverability. They pave the way for advanced driver assistance systems and autonomous driving functions.
Other innovations include semi-active and active damping technologies that adapt to road and driving conditions in real time, offering comfort and excellent road holding. In combination with low-friction wheel bearings, they increase driving dynamics and ensure low energy consumption.
Advanced sensor cleaning systems for autonomous driving also ensure that safety-critical sensors function reliably even under demanding environmental conditions. At the Schaeffler Automotive Symposium, Schaeffler will also present newly developed high-performance braking systems that meet new standards in terms of overall safety, extended maintenance intervals and reduced particulate emissions.
