In Cina Chinese Smart already shows the concept of the #2

A new chapter begins for the Smart brand with yesterday's Smart Global Brand Event in Beijing. The focus of the event under the motto "Change of Perspectives" was the debut of the Smart Concept #2. The design model of an all-electric Smart, created under the design philosophy "Love, Pure, Unexpected" by the Mercedes-Benz Global Design Team, was unveiled for the first time. Concept #2 will make its public debut at a press conference next Friday at Auto China. The series version will make its debut in Paris.

Florian Nemitz, CEO Smart Germany, sees the Smart Concept #2 as a logical continuation of the Smart Fortwo. For him, the two-seater is an example of "mobility suitable for everyday use and full of character". For Wolfgang Ufer, CEO Smart Europe, the Global Brand Event marks an important starting point for a new chapter for Smart. The Concept #2 unites the creativity and passion of the Mercedes-Benz design team and conveys a clear vision of the future qualities of the Smart #2. "It is a vehicle that is geared towards the actual reality of life and mobility for European Smart customers - effortless, agile and efficient," says Wolfgang Ufer.

Kai Sieber, Mercedes-Benz Design, Head of Design Smart, is convinced that a city car should be more than just a problem solver: "It should be a source of joy". Sieber continues: "It's not just about clever practicality, but about a genuine extension of personal identity."

With Concept #2, Mercedes-Benz is talking about a range of 300 kilometers and a DC fast-charging capability that would increase the charge level from ten percent to 80 percent in less than 20 minutes. The concept model also includes innovative vehicle-to-load functions (V2L). The production model is set to make its debut at the Paris Motor Show in October 2026.

As part of the Brand Event 2026, the brand will also be presenting another new model for the Chinese market, the Smart #6 EHD3. The vehicle, designed by the Mercedes-Benz Global Design Team, marks Smart's entry into the premium fastback saloon segment. (aum)
