Hyundai Ioniq 3 unveiled

Hyundai has unveiled the Ioniq 3. The all-electric hatchback, which was developed in Germany and is tailored to the needs of European customers, combines a new design with modern technology, an efficient drive system and an unusually generous amount of space for this vehicle class.

The newly developed "Aero Hatch" body shape, which is similar to its Genesis brother, the GV60, catches the eye. The flat front end merges into an elongated roofline, which only drops away at the rear and ends in a rear spoiler. The result is not only a drag coefficient of 0.263, but also ample headroom for passengers in the rear. In terms of design, the Ioniq 3 follows the familiar "Art of Steel" philosophy with clear lines and reduced surfaces. Characteristic pixel lighting elements and design details that quote the letter "H" in Morse code emphasize the brand identity. Customers can choose from eleven exterior colors as well as various equipment and wheel variants, including the sporty N Line.

Hyundai relies on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) with 400-volt architecture for the drive system. The electric motor delivers up to 107.8 kW (147 PS) and provides a maximum torque of 250 Nm. The top speed is 170 km/h. According to Hyundai, two battery options should enable a WLTP range of up to 496 kilometers. Enabling. The fast-charging function allows the battery to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in around 29 minutes under optimum conditions. This is supplemented by AC charging with up to 22 kW. Functions such as Plug & Charge or Vehicle-to-Load extend the suitability for everyday use.

In the interior, Hyundai has opted for the "Furnished Space" concept, which is designed to create a homely atmosphere. A flat floor and a long wheelbase ensure freedom of movement, while 441 liters of trunk space including an additional "megabox" increase everyday usability. High-quality materials, some of which are recycled or bio-based, and optional comfort features such as relaxation seats and a Bose sound system round off the range. The "Pleos Connect" infotainment system based on Android Automotive OS is also being used for the first time. It is designed to offer intuitive operation, seamless connectivity and functions such as Digital Key, EV route planning and Vehicle-to-Load.

The Ioniq 3 was developed at the European research center in Rüsselsheim and will be produced in Turkey. (aum)
