Skoda rises to number three in Europe

Skoda delivered 1,043,900 vehicles to customers last year. In Europe, the brand rose to become the third-strongest supplier behind VW and Toyota, increasing sales by 9.9 percent to 836,200 cars. Skoda is in fourth place in Europe for electric cars.

In Germany, still the largest market, new registrations rose by almost 13 percent to 211,100. With a market share of 7.9 percent, Skoda overtook Audi, for example, and is the fourth most successful brand in the country. In India, where Skoda also builds regional models specifically for the market, sales almost doubled to 70,600 vehicles. The Czech VW subsidiary also made noticeable gains in North Africa and Turkey.

The Octavia (190,300 units) remains the best-selling model worldwide, ahead of the Kodiaq (130,400 units), the Kamiq (125,900 vehicles) and the Fabia (119,100 sales). (aum)
