The Formentor VZ5 can now be ordered from Cupra. The brand's most powerful production model to date is returning to the range after almost two years. The 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine from Audi continues to mobilize 390 hp (287 kW). This enables the VZ5 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. It develops a maximum torque of 480 Newton meters. The power is distributed intelligently and variably to the rear axle via the torque splitter for maximum traction and high cornering dynamics. The high-performance setup is complemented by a specially tuned sports suspension and an Akrapovic exhaust system as standard.
Wider wheel arches, a redesigned front bumper and a front splitter engraved with "VZ5" underline the performance claim, as do the exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels. The cup bucket seats are mounted low to maximize space and ensure an ergonomic, racing-inspired seating position.
The new Cupra Formentor VZ5 is available to order at a price starting at 72,950 euros, will go into production in January and will be launched in the first quarter of the year. Only 4000 units will be built. (aum)
