For the 25th time, the AvD Histo-Monte invites you to a special outing: From February 9 to 14, the historic vehicles will travel from Rothenburg ob der Tauber via stops in the Swiss Alps and France to the Principality of Monaco and the destination of Cannes. The anniversary tour offers some new features on the 2000 kilometers to the Côte d'Azur. The Automobilclub von Deutschland supports the classic car tour as the namesake and organizes the breakdown service on site as a service partner. There are still a few places available. But hurry is advised.
Vehicles built up to and including 1995 are eligible to take part. After a successful document check and technical inspection on February 9, 2026, the classic cars will set off on the following day for the prologue around Rothenburg ob der Tauber. The restart on February 11 will then take them towards the Mediterranean, along the picturesque scenery through the Black Forest and the Swiss Alps to France. The route leads through narrow gorge passages and over the mountains. At the Col du Lauteret at an altitude of over 2000 meters, a winter drive is almost guaranteed. On February 14, the cars then start in Monaco for the final stage with the finish in Cannes.
A crossing of the old Rhine bridge in Rheinfelden, which is closed to traffic, the Aiglun gorge, the mountain village of Le Mas and sections of the F1 Grand Prix circuit in Monaco are just some of the planned intermediate destinations. Four-time Rally Monte Carlo winner Walter Röhrl is also planning to accompany the field of drivers in his Porsche 911 on the final stage. For the first time, a Group B Renault 5 Turbo in the wide version will also be taking part.
Also represented in the field are makes and models such as the Maserati Merak, Lancia Stratos, Audi Quattro or Saab 900. Even rarer is likely to be the 1969 Rover P5 B that is currently being prepared for the AvD Histo-Monte.
The entry deadline ends on Sunday, December 14. The limit for the classic car rally is 100 vehicles, but a few remaining places are still available. Those interested still have the chance to register for the driving experience on the Internet at avd-histo-monte.com/participants/entry. (aum)
