A Renault for the President of the Republic
Two are better than one and the main thing is French: in addition to the DS No. 8 Présidentiel the Élysée Palace in Paris is also getting a Renault Rafale Présidentiel for the President of the Republic. The armored vehicle is designed as an office on wheels and is based on the plug-in hybrid Rafale Hybrid E-Tech 4x4 with 300 hp (221 kW), whose chassis has been extended.
In addition to the armored body painted in exclusive Bleu Présidence, special features include a radiator grille in the national colors, removable flag holders and blue, white and red emblems on the front doors. The paintwork also has a blue, white and red glitter effect that is visible in sunlight. The soft-close system on the rear doors ensures quiet opening and closing and complies with protocol requirements.
The interior features black marble with white veins, which is quarried in the Pyrenees, and dark beech wood with inlays. The leather comes from selected remnants and has been reworked in special colors, while the blue decorative stitching corresponds to the official color palette of the Republic. The headrests feature a finely crafted laser engraving of the French coat of arms: a pelta with a lictor's bundle and oak and olive branches. (aum)
