The EU now wants all cars that are more than ten years old to undergo a technical inspection. The champagne corks must have popped at the TÜV yesterday when this news hit the screens. After all, more than half of all cars registered in this country are more than ten years old. With these 23 million to 26 million vehicles affected, will the TÜV turnover tend to double if the European Parliament follows the Commission's proposal?
