China crisis, US tariffs - the entire automotive industry is currently in disaster mode. The whole one? No, one small Gallic brand is successfully bracing itself against the crisis: Renault, the smallest of the major car manufacturers, is taking it easy: "I've had a lot of bad luck in the last four years as Renault CEO, but at least in this case I'm not the first to be worried," says Renault boss Luca de Meo. For a long time, competitors did not really take Renault seriously; the company had little or no presence in China and the USA. The weakness of the past is now a strength.
