Savoir-vivre on wheels - with small compromises

There are things that only the French can do. Croissants that crumble at the slightest touch, fashion that never looks effortless and, of course, cars that are more a lifestyle than just a means of transportation. DS Automobiles, the luxury spin-off from Citroën, has been trying to do justice to this style for years - albeit with limited success so far. With the new DS No.8, the company now wants to take electric mobility to the next level - with refined elegance, maximum comfort and a touch of artistic staging.

Massage seats, neck warmers, a chassis that reads the asphalt - the DS No. 8 presents itself as a driving oasis of relaxation. A rolling spa with French esprit, designed to ensure pure serenity on long journeys. But while the driver and front passenger bask in luxurious materials and sophisticated comfort details, the mood in the rear is different. Taking a seat there means less wellness and more of a yoga experience - including bent legs and a roofline that forces you to sit in a slouching position.

On the other hand, the No. 8 shines with technical sophistication. A range of up to 750 kilometers, an aerodynamically optimized design and powerful drive options with up to 350 hp combine style with suitability for everyday use. The illuminated radiator grille and the striking light signature create visual highlights, while the adaptive chassis is designed to ensure superior road holding. The charging experience is also to be improved with a stable charging curve.

With its unmistakable style, high-quality materials and innovative technology, the DS No. 8 certainly brings a breath of fresh air to the electric luxury class. The focus on design and comfort is clearly noticeable - with minor compromises in terms of space. (aum)
