VW brand boss Thomas Schäfer gave employees a glimpse of the design of the new all-electric entry-level model at the works meeting in Wolfsburg today. The vehicle from European production is to be launched on the market for around 20,000 euros - but not for another two years. The show car is to be officially presented in March. "The new all-electric entry-level model will be a Volkswagen in the truest sense of the word," said a delighted Daniela Cavallo, Chairwoman of the Group Works Council.
Next year, however, it will be VW's turn to launch the ID 2 in Polo format. Volkswagen promises a base price of around 25,000 euros. (aum)
