It is considered to be the longest production motorcycle in the world: a Böhmerland is being auctioned on the online marketplace Catawiki. The 3.10 meter long machine could carry three people thanks to an additional seat. The Böhmerland, which was produced in Czechoslovakia from 1924 to 1938, was usually powered by a 600 cubic centimeter single-cylinder engine with an output of between 16 hp (12 kW) and 25 hp (18 kW), depending on the year of manufacture. Most recently, it was powered by a 350 cc engine.
The motorcycle offered on Catawiki dates from 1931 and is located in Italy. The 600 has the frame number 426 and is said not to have been ridden a single kilometer. The Böhmerland is said to have originally come from a private collection in Prague. The auction ends on December 29. The current bid stands at over 37,000 euros. Experts estimate the value of the machine at between 85,000 and 95,000 euros. (aum)
