Renault's cult chubby cheek returns
The Renault 5 Turbo is a cult car par excellence. Now the French have announced the return of the legendary chubby cheek as part of their retro-electric strategy. Like its role model over 45 years ago, the modern descendant will also be rear-wheel drive. The R 5 Turbo 3E will have two electric motors on the rear axle with an output of more than 368 kW (500 hp). This should enable the production model to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. Even if the name Turbo is not technically correct, the electric car with its very wide fenders should also have what it takes to become a cult model. (aum)
