With the Land Cruiser 250, Toyota presents the new edition of its off-road icon. Visually, the angular Japanese vehicle returns to its roots and once again offers outstanding off-road characteristics thanks to its robust ladder frame and permanent all-wheel drive. All kinds of assistance systems make handling on rough terrain easier. However, the handling on paved asphalt has also been significantly improved.
The 2.8-liter diesel with 205 hp (151 kW) has been revised and combined with a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Standard fuel consumption is specified at 10.3 liters. Another new feature is the front stabilizer bar, which can now be decoupled for better axle articulation. This is done at the touch of a button on the center console and improves maneuvering in rough terrain, as the suspension travel is increased and all four wheels maintain contact with the ground. The 4.93 meter long Toyota is also available as a seven-seater as an option.
However, with a starting price of 67,990 euros, the Land Cruiser has also become significantly more expensive. (aum)
