5 and 6 are followed by 9

Next year, Hyundai will launch the Ioniq 9 as the third model of its all-electric sub-brand. With an exterior length of over five meters and a wheelbase of 3.13 meters, it offers space for up to seven occupants and still has a trunk capacity of 338 liters when fully seated. The standard range is said to be up to 620 kilometers. Hyundai also promises a towing capacity of up to 2.5 tons.

Hyundai specifies a battery capacity of 110 kWh. The version with long-range rear-wheel drive delivers 160 kW (218 hp), while the all-wheel drive version also has a 70 kW (95 hp) front engine. The top model is the Performance Varinate with two 160 kW engines, which accelerate the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds. The other two models achieve the standard sprint in 6.7 and 9.4 seconds respectively.

Among other things, the Ioniq 9 will have a center console that can be moved by 19 centimeters and a panoramic display that curves inwards. Many sustainable and recycled materials are used in the interior.

The large electric SUV is the first Hyundai model with aluminum fenders and side panels to reduce weight and increase efficiency. An active air flap improves air sealing. The optional digital side mirrors reduce the Cd value from 0.27 to 0.26. (aum)
