Mahle supplies components for hydrogen trucks

Mahle has received an order from MAN to supply components for the hydrogen engine of the hTGX. The six-cylinder direct injection engine has a displacement of 16.8 liters and an output of 521 hp (383 kW). Mahle is contributing its hydrogen Powercell unit, which consists of pistons, piston rings, piston pins and cylinder liners. Other elements supplied by the Stuttgart-based automotive supplier are also used for the valve train.

MAN plans to build around 200 units of its truck classified as a zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) for selected markets from next year. The truck was recently honored with the "Truck Innovation Award 2025".

Mahle is currently working on almost 30 hydrogen engine projects for customers in the on- and off-highway sector. (aum)
