Fiat is celebrating the 125th anniversary of the brand with three exhibitions in Turin. With "125 volte FIAT - La modernitá attraverso l'imaginario FIAT", the Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile tells the story of the Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino - Fiat for short - founded in 1899 in the context of industrial development in the 20th century. The presentation "125 times Fiat - Modernity in the imagination of Fiat" runs until May 4, 2025, while the Heritage Hub is dedicated to lesser-known and some surprising models from history under the motto "Insolite e Sorprendenti FIAT". And the Centro Storico of Fiat is showing previously unpublished documents from the archives.
With this exhibition, the National Automobile Museum in Turin explains the deep connection between Fiat and the cultural, industrial and economic development of the country. The company was at the forefront of the industrial revolution in Italy in the 20th century. Exhibits from the fields of art, cinema and design, among others, underline the influence of the car manufacturer on Italian modernism. Nine legendary vehicles are on display, including a 508 Balilla from 1932, a 1936 500 A Topolino and the Panda from 1982. A large selection of artworks, memorabilia, archive documents as well as graphics, photos and videos accompany the vehicles on display. In addition, panel discussions organized in collaboration with the University of Turin take up the themes of the exhibition.
Parallel to the car museum, the Heritage Hub in Turin is presenting a special exhibition of lesser-known Fiat vehicles. The presentation traces the technical and stylistic development of the brand. The exhibits include the Fiat 520 from the 1920s and the Scia concept car from 1993, as well as the Vanzic electric concept car from 1995. The 500 Giardiniera Legno, the 600 Multipla and the Panda Militare Steyr Puch represent functional vehicles for civilian, commercial and military use. Special exhibits also include the sporty Uno Turbo Trofeo, the Panda Jolly and the Fiat 500 Barbie Edition as well as the exclusive Qubo Spiaggina. The "Unexpected and Surprising Fiat" exhibition is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays exclusively as part of guided tours. Reservations can be made on the Heritage Hub website.
The Centro Storico Fiat takes up another aspect. The brand's documentation center in Turin is showing unpublished material from its archives, which were selected together with the Institute for Heritage and Work Culture of Economy and Social Law. (aum)
