Three new Porsche Taycan

Porsche is expanding the range of the extensively updated Taycan Taycan with three further models: the new edition of the Taycan GTS with a peak output of 515 kW (700 PS) and Launch Control, which is also available as a Sport Turismo, and the entry-level saloon, the Taycan 4, now also with all-wheel drive for the first time.

With overboost and the use of Launch Control, the Taycan GTS delivers 75 kW (102 PS) more than its predecessor. With the Push-to-Pass function of the standard Sport Chrono Package, additional power of up to 70 kW can be called up for ten seconds at the touch of a button. In the Taycan GTS, Push-to-Pass also has a particularly sporty character, as the torque is increased to Launch Control level at low speeds. As with the Taycan Turbo GT, the boost is indicated by a countdown timer in the instrument cluster and dynamically staged with animated rings in the speedometer.

The Taycan GTS reaches the 100 km/h mark from a standstill in 3.3 seconds as a saloon and Sport Turismo. That is 0.4 seconds less than the previous generation. When sprinting from zero to 200 km/h, the time for the saloon is reduced by 1.6 seconds to 10.4 seconds. At the same time, the range has been improved by over 120 kilometers and is up to 628 kilometers according to WLTP.

Typical for the GTS are numerous black or anthracite gray details on the body. Many of the interior materials have been adopted from the Turbo GT models. The optional GTS interior package is now also available in slate gray neo in addition to carmine red.

The GTS-specific suspension and the optional rear-axle steering are tuned to be particularly sporty. The adaptive air suspension including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is combined with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus as standard. The Porsche Active Ride active suspension control system with GTS-specific tuning is available as an option. As with the Turbo S, the GTS also has a more distinctive sound profile. This special acoustic feature sets it apart from other models in the series.

In addition to the Cross Turismo, the entry-level version of the saloon is now also available with all-wheel drive. The performance of the Taycan 4 corresponds to that of the Taycan with rear-wheel drive. Depending on whether the standard Performance Battery or the optional Performance Battery Plus is located in the underbody, this results in an overboost output of up to 300 kW (408 PS) or 320 kW (435 PS) when using Launch Control.

With the Performance battery, the standard range is up to 559 kilometers, with the Performance Plus battery it is up to 643 kilometers according to WLTP. This is around 35 kilometers less than without the all-wheel drive system, but it offers greater driving stability and more traction. Despite an additional weight of 80 kilograms, the standard sprint is achieved in 4.6 seconds. This makes the Taycan 4 two tenths of a second faster at 100 km/h than the rear-wheel drive model.

The new models are available to order now and will go on sale at the beginning of next year. The Taycan 4 is available at prices starting at 106,200 euros, the Taycan GTS starts at 147,700 euros and the Sport Turismo is 900 euros more expensive. (aum)
