A second helping for the Renault Rafale: when the SUV coupé based on the Espace was launched on the market in spring, it was only available with a 200 hp (147 kW) hybrid. Now the French are expanding their range with a powerful plug-in hybrid with all-wheel drive and a system output of 300 hp (221 kW). Thanks to the possibility of recharging with external power, the electric range of the new top model with the rather unwieldy sales name Rafale E-Tech Plug-in-Hybrid 300 4x4 is up to 105 kilometers. In the special measuring procedure for plug-in hybrids, this translates into a standard average fuel consumption of 0.6 liters.
The Rafale plug-in hybrid is available in two equipment lines. The basic Esprit Alpine version starts at 53,300 euros, while the newly added Atelier Alpine line is available exclusively for the top-of-the-range 300 hp model and starts at 57,800 euros. The well-known full hybrid with 200 hp, on the other hand, is available for as little as 43,800 euros. (aum)
