For 50 years, the "RS" abbreviation at Skoda has stood for "Rallye Sport", and although the Octavia RS has little to do with real rally fever, it has also advanced to the "sporty spearhead" in this model generation. Following the redesign, the turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI engine now develops 265 hp, enabling the Combi version to sprint to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds and reach a speedy 250 km/h. However, Skoda focuses on power and comfort. In addition to rapid acceleration, the Octavia RS can also glide along just as smoothly if desired.
Interesting fact: around 20 percent of all Octavia customers consistently opt for the sporty RS model. However, the target group is not just after adrenaline. Over 60 percent of buyers order an additional trailer coupling - not for speedy trips with a caravan, but to have their e-bike with them. Conveniently, the Octavia RS not only shines in the fast lane, but also with its versatility. (aum)
