Skoda and Seat sell more cars

The VW Group's two foreign volume brands increased their sales in the first nine months of the year: Skoda delivered 671,300 vehicles worldwide and Seat recorded 422,100 deliveries. This is 4.5 percent and 7.7 percent more respectively than in the same period last year. Sales at Skoda rose by 3.8 percent to 20.4 billion euros, while profits increased by more than a third to 1.7 billion euros. At 10.5 billion euros, Seat's turnover was slightly lower than in the same period of the previous year (minus three percent), while profits shrank by 17.2 percent to 415 million euros, mainly due to investments in the growing Cupra performance brand. The Octavia at Skoda and the Cupra Formentor at Seat remained the top sellers. (aum)
