Lancia is returning to the rally tracks with the Ypsilon Rally 4 HF. The former permanent world champion is entering the Rally 4 category to promote young drivers. The young drivers will compete for the Trofeo Lancia as part of the Italian championship. The prize money amounts to a total of 300,000 euros, and the winner will drive the Ypsilon Rally 4 in the European Championship in 2026. Lancia can build a total of 100 to 120 rally cars.
The Rallye Ypsilon is a new design and uses the Stellantis CMP platform in the MHEV version as its basis for the first time. The car is powered by a three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with an output of 212 hp (156 kW). In order to keep the costs for the young drivers within limits, the drive was designed for a long running time between revisions. Power is transmitted via a five-speed gearbox from Sadev, the engine management system comes from Marelli, the exhaust system from Supersprint and the adjustable shock absorbers from Öhlins. Miki Biasion, world rally champion with Lancia in 1988 and 1989, contributed his expertise to the design.
The Lancia Ypsilon Rally 4 HF can be ordered from Stellantis-Motorsport and costs 74,500 euros net. (aum)
