Forvia brings video conferencing into the car

Forvia, the new automotive technology supplier from Hella and Faurecia, is bringing video conferencing into the car. In close cooperation with Microsoft, the subsidiary Faurecia Aptoide Automotive has developed a user-friendly Microsoft Teams solution. With the product "Forvia Meetings for Microsoft Teams", Forvia is expanding its range of apps, which includes more than 200 applications and is integrated into 23 car brands worldwide.

The new Forvia Meetings app allows users to take part in meetings, check emails and manage calendars from their vehicle. Registration takes place via email or QR code. The driver can then connect directly to Teams and Outlook. To ensure safety, driver restrictions have been introduced to minimize interactions with the app while driving. At the same time, essential functions are maintained. For example, meetings are only continued in audio mode, and chats or emails cannot be read while the vehicle is in motion.

In the near future, AI-supported voice commands and GenAI-based functions will be introduced as an option to increase productivity. These functions will enable drivers to control Microsoft Teams "hands-free". (aum)
