The five class winners for the "German Car of the Year" title have been announced. A jury of around 40 German and international motoring journalists has made its choice from the most significant new launches of the past twelve months.
Among the compact cars with a base price of up to 35,000 euros, the new
Citroën C3 came out on top in the compact segment, while the BMW 5 Series
base price, the BMW 5 Series came out on top. In the luxury segment with a cost price of
over 70,000 euros, the Cadillac Lyriq won the class. In the category of vehicles with alternative drive systems, the decision was made in favor of the Audi Q6, and in the sporty "Performance" class, the winner was the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS T-Hybrid.
Germany's "Car of the Year" will then be chosen from the five class winners during extensive test drives. The decision will be made on November 13. The event is supported by ZF and other companies from the automotive industry. (aum)
