The Honda CB 750 Hornet was one of the stars of the Cologne Intermot two years ago. Now that the CB 500 has also been given the illustrious additional model designation from the brand's history, the Japanese company is now adding the CB 1000 Hornet as a new model for next year. The four-cylinder engine from the 2017 Fireblade serves as the drive, which in the large "Hornet" delivers 152 hp (112 kW) at 11,000 rpm and 104 newton meters of torque. Honda specifies a top speed of 230 km/h.
The CB 1000 Hornet comes with three fixed and two individually adjustable riding programs, wheelie control and a three-stage adjustable engine brake as well as a connectivity-capable five-inch TFT color display. The chassis of the naked bike is a new design. The tank holds 17 liters and the ready-to-ride weight is 211 kilograms. An SP with Öhlins suspension strut will also be available as a high-end version. It offers another five hp and three Newton meters more.
Further details on the price and time of availability are not yet available. (aum)
