Porsche delivered 226,026 vehicles worldwide in the first nine months of the year. This is over 16,500 fewer than in the same period of the previous year. The company explains the seven percent decline with, among other things, the model changeover in four out of six of its model series, which led to limited availability. However, the Chinese market also contributed significantly to the decline.
In Germany, the brand grew by eight percent to 26,838 new registrations in the first three quarters. While the level in North America fell by five percent, sales in China declined by 29 percent to 43,280 vehicles. There was slight growth in the European markets as well as overseas and international growth markets.
With 77,686 units, the Porsche Cayenne was the bestseller, with sales increasing by 21 percent. The 911 and the 718 also sold better in the first nine months than in the previous year, while sales of the other model series fell noticeably due to the upcoming model changeovers. (aum)
