Mazda does it differently again

Mazda is once again doing everything differently - and a lot of things right. The brand's new flagship, the CX-80, is currently rolling into dealerships not only as a plug-in hybrid, but also with a newly developed six-cylinder diesel. When others are getting out of diesel, Mazda is getting in all the more.

"We think that 60 percent of customers will opt for the diesel and 40 percent for the plug-in hybrid," says Head of Sales Felix Gebhard. However, it is not a foregone conclusion that the majority will opt for the diesel. After all, the hybrid also has its strengths and costs up to 3700 euros less.

The five-meter-long body of the CX-80 makes it clear at first glance that Mazda is targeting a conservative clientele. The third row of seats is always on board, but two individual seats in the middle are available on request, transforming the almost five-meter-long SUV into a business saloon. The price list starts at 55,350 euros. (aum)
