Martin Resch is head of the German activities of the joint venture Leapmotor International. The experienced automotive manager is therefore responsible for the successful market launch of the Chinese electric car brand in Germany.
Martin Resch has been working in the automotive industry since the end of the 1990s - initially in retail, he joined Opel in 2006 and has held various positions in the areas of service and dealer network development in recent years. Most recently, as Head of Dealer Network Development, he was responsible for the strategic expansion of the networks of all Stellantis brands in the German sales organization. "I am very much looking forward to this exciting task," says the 47-year-old. "We will rely on our proven dealer network and the diverse opportunities within the Stellantis Group to quickly and sustainably advance the Leapmotor brand in Germany."
The founding of Leapmotor International B.V., the joint venture between Stellantis and Leapmotor, was only completed in May. Stellantis holds a 51 percent stake in the joint venture, which will initially bring a small electric car and an electric SUV to Europe in the form of the T03 and the C10. The first vehicles are currently on the ship from China to Europe, where the market launch is due to begin next month.
In addition to the T03 and C10, further Leapmotor models are to be added to the technology and the portfolio of the Stellantis brands over the next three years. The market launch in Europe will initially start with over 200 Stellantis sales outlets in France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Greece and Romania. The number of locations is to be increased to 500 by 2026. (aum)
