Electromobility model country with blemishes

Norway is considered a model country when it comes to electromobility. And for the first time, more electric cars are on the road there than petrol-only cars, according to the country's own Road Traffic Information Council OFV. Among the 2.8 million registered cars in the Scandinavian country, there were 754,303 electric cars and 753,905 petrol cars. However, hybrid models with combustion engines were excluded from the figures.

And the statistics still have one or two blemishes. On the one hand, e-vehicles, which are also expensive in Norway, are mainly found in the wealthy sections of the population, where more than half of households have three or more of the extremely tax-privileged electric vehicles registered. The majority of the population still drive combustion engines and here, with just under one million registrations, the diesel engine is still the dominant drive system. (aum)
