World premiere in Hanover: Renault presents the new Master with hydrogen drive at the IAA Transportation. The prototype of the new van was developed by Hyvia, a joint venture founded in 2021 by the Renault Group and fuel cell specialist Plug Power. It should enable a WLTP range of 700 kilometers in all weather conditions, with refueling taking just five minutes. It is expected to roll onto European roads in 2025.
The platform with fuel cell is tailored to a wide range of applications. The Master is available both as a van and with a flatbed or chassis. The entire hydrogen architecture was already integrated into the vehicle platform during the three-year design phase. This means that both the load space and the payload are retained.
Hyvia, a composite of "Hy" for "hydrogen" and "via" for "road", continues to expand its entire hydrogen ecosystem to offer holistic solutions, from hydrogen transporters to hydrogen filling stations and financing options. (aum)
