Like Volvo, Polestar, Lotus and Smart, Lynk & Co belongs to the Chinese Geely Group - and started with a completely new concept: initially, the Lynk & Co 01 model could only be subscribed to. There were no plans to lease or sell it. This has since changed, but success remains limited. With only one model and no dealers of its own, sales are sluggish. Just two new cars were registered in Germany in August. CEO Nicolas Lopez Appelgren now wants to change this. A new model and the company's own dealer network should give the brand a new boost.
Lynk & Co is also planning a new entry-level model based on the Volvo EX 30, one of the most successful electric cars in Europe. And following an extensive facelift, the 01 model will be available in two equipment lines, some of which will be cheaper than the current version. In an interview, Nicolas Lopez Appelgren explains how the brand intends to position itself in the future. (aum)
