Peugeot has been supporting the underwater research program "Under the Pole" since May 2024. It combines expeditions around the world, scientific research and awareness-raising campaigns to protect the oceans. As an "official partner for education", the French Stellantis brand now wants to further expand its collaboration with the marine conservation initiative.
The "Under the Pole" program was founded in 2008 by Ghislain Bardout and Emmanuelle Périé-Bardout in Concarneau, France. It shares the ambition of using science and technology to protect the environment, particularly the oceans. To this end, it organizes expeditions around the world that focus on scientific exploration, particularly in polar or isolated regions.
Based on the conviction that knowledge is only useful if it is shared, the Marine Conservation Initiative also works with the general public to raise awareness of the importance of this cause, particularly among young people, in the form of an educational caravan. As part of these educational activities, Peugeot will be involved as an official "Partner for Education" through the creation of educational content, the organization of educational days and workshops, as well as specialized events in the fields of automotive, diving and scientific research.
The brand has provided two Boxers to transport the equipment required for the various missions. Three electric E-208 and E-308 SW models will also be used for the teams' daily journeys. (aum)
