Eon operates first German charging station for e-trucks at the Port of Hamburg

Eon has put its first German charging station specifically for electric trucks into operation in the Hamburg port area directly on the A7 highway. Each of the four individual charging stations has an output of 400 kilowatts, which makes it possible to charge a truck for the next leg of the journey during the driver's statutory 45-minute rest break. Depending on the truck model, energy for around 300 kilometers of driving can flow into the battery during this time.

The location and the installed hardware are also designed so that the charging stations can be upgraded to megawatt charging at a later date. This technology with charging capacities in the megawatt range should enable even shorter charging times in the future. Thanks to their width of three meters and length of 25 meters, the parking and charging bays are also suitable for articulated lorries, meaning that it is not necessary to uncouple the trailer or semi-trailer.

In addition to the new charging stations at the Port of Hamburg, Eon Drive Infrastructure already operates e-truck charging stations in Sweden and Denmark. Further charging parks are being planned in Germany and other European countries. (aum)
