Preview: Once without extras and new EU plans

The Citroën C4 is the French company's offering in the compact class. Only rarely does a basic model find its way into the test car fleet. We drove the "You" version without extras, which is available from dealers for 19,565 euros without extras. What can you expect - and what not?

Technological openness - what for many has now become an ideological battle cry, the Kia Niro simply offers a customer-friendly variety of options. The compact crossover is available as a battery-electric version, as a plug-in hybrid and as a combustion engine with electric support. And as a part-time electric vehicle, it reconciles everyday mobility with a green conscience when used properly, as our author Frank Wald found out in a practical test. The dual drive is currently experiencing a resurgence after subsidies for battery-only cars were cut. Now, of all times, the EU wants to put new rules on PHEVs.

Fiddling with the charging plug - that doesn't have to be the case. Contactless, inductive charging is convenient and now also fast. We tried out the system from Mahle. It works surprisingly easily.

As usual, we will also keep you up to date with the latest developments in the automotive world, the motorcycle market and transport policy throughout the week. (aum)
