Preview: Ambitious goals, a car bucking the trend and a stew

Lucid has big plans for the German and European market. The brand sees itself as a premium provider and wants to produce one million electric cars in the next decade. In our interview, European CEO Alexander Lutz describes the models with which his company intends to achieve its ambitious goals.

The Kia Picanto is bravely bucking the trend. As one of the few remaining subcompact cars on the market, the third generation launched in 2017 keeps individual mobility affordable for newcomers, care, social and delivery services and as a family shopping car. A second facelift adapts the design to the new EV look and brings comfort and safety features up to date. Royal Enfield has also entered a new dimension. The Himalayan 450 replaces the previous 411 and features the first water-cooled engine from the former British brand. The performance of the 40 hp enduro is impressive in our practical test and makes the hearts of all single-cylinder fans beat faster.

When nothing else works, only all-wheel drive will do. Bürstner is now also using this formula for its most important new model for the coming season. The Lineo C-4x4 Black Forest, based on the Ford Transit, reveals its origins: the company in Kehl has a good view of the neighboring Black Forest. We also take a look at electrification at Opel.

We also keep you up to date on other news from the wide field of mobility. (aum)
