Vinfast announces new model for Europe

Vinfast increasingly wants to score points with European drivers. The Vietnamese car manufacturer is currently represented on the continent in Germany, France and the Netherlands. The most popular Vinfast model variant in these countries is currently the VF 8 Plus electric SUV, with 95 percent of customers choosing it. In order to gain consumer confidence, the Far Eastern brand relies on extensive standard equipment and corresponding service.

Standard equipment in the VF 8 Plus includes heated and ventilated leatherette front and rear seats, 12-way electric adjustment and memory function for the driver and 10-way adjustment for the front passenger, a high-resolution 15.6-inch infotainment screen, a panoramic roof, a head-up display and a 360-degree camera. The standard specification also includes a driving assistance package, including adaptive cruise control level 2. The eleven airbags are leading in this segment, according to Vinfast.

As the VF 8 Plus, the all-wheel drive all-electric SUV has a 300 kW electric motor with a maximum torque of 620 Newton meters; the WLTP range of the 87.7 kWh battery is specified as up to 457 kilometers. In the basic Eco version, the electric motor has an output of 260 kW. Another model will be available for European customers later this year. (aum/av)
