Seat appoints Arantxa Alonso as Brand Officer

Seat has appointed Arantxa Alonso as Brand Officer. In this newly created position, the Spaniard will develop a long-term strategy for the brand. Alonso, currently Head of the Cupra Project Office at Volkswagen Anhui in China, will take up her new position on September 1 and will report directly to Sven Schuwirth, Board Member for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales at Seat S.A..

Seat continues to play a "crucial role in the long-term profitable growth of the company", says Wayne Griffiths, CEO of Seat and Cupra. "For this position we needed someone with the ambition and vision to build on the continued success of the brand. Arantxa is undoubtedly the perfect person for the job."

Arantxa Alonso, who speaks fluent French, German, English and Spanish, graduated as an industrial engineer from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and obtained her Master's degree in Automotive Product Engineering from Cranfield University in 2000. She also completed an Executive Master in Sales and Marketing at ESADE Business School and a program on Artificial Intelligence at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).

Alonso began her career at Seat S.A. in 2005, becoming Global Product Manager for the Seat Leon in September 2010 and Global Head of Product Marketing for all of the brand's compact cars in May 2014. She has been in her current position at Volkswagen Anhui in China since November 2019. (aum)
