Stellantis launches new lubricant made from waste oil

Stellantis is launching the first engine lubricant developed by Total Energies from 100 percent recycled oil in its Sustainera Recycle range. According to the manufacturer, Quartz EV3R 10W-40 reduces wear by up to 46 percent compared to industry standard limits and improves piston cleanliness by up to 20 percent compared to new base oil.

Quartz EV3R 10W-40 is an oil made from used oil that undergoes a refining process to restore its original properties and performance. It has a life cycle CO2 footprint that is up to 50 percent lower than the previous generation Quartz 7000 10W-40. High-quality waste oils from various sources are used in its production. The packaging is also sustainable. Half of the one-liter and five-liter bottles are made of recycled plastic and are themselves completely recyclable.

The new eco-oil is suitable for both petrol and diesel engines in Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel and Vauxhall vehicles under the designation PSA B71 2300 and is also approved by many other manufacturers. It is available in Europe from Stellantis sales partners and all the usual points of sale. (aum)
