The VW Group continues at the previous year's level

The Volkswagen Group delivered 4.35 million vehicles worldwide in the first half of the year, almost matching the previous year's level (4.37 million units). Growth in North and South America and a slight increase of two percent in Europe almost offset the declines in other regions, particularly in China in the second quarter with minus 19.3 percent. In Germany, registrations of Group brands rose by 3.6 percent in the first six months compared to the same period last year.

While the core brand maintained the level of the first half of the previous year with 2.22 million vehicles, sales of Skoda, Seat and Cupra as well as light commercial vehicles rose by between 3.8 percent and 13.8 percent. Among the premium brands, only Lamborghini saw a slight increase. Bentley sold a fifth fewer cars than a year ago, while deliveries at Audi and Porsche fell by around eight and almost seven percent respectively.

The Traton truck division delivered 160,100 vehicles. This is around 8,000 and 4.8 percent less than in the first half of 2023. MAN and Navistar fell short of the previous year's figures, while Scania and VW Truck & Bus (South America) increased their sales. (aum)
