VW rolls out the R
At Volkswagen, the sportiest versions of the Golf are now also completing the modifications, which are available to order with immediate effect. Customers can choose between the front-wheel-drive Golf GTI Clubsport and the three all-wheel-drive versions Golf R, R Variant and the exclusive R Black Edition special model. Among other things, the performance versions have a firmer chassis, Chat-GPT, special driving profiles and an illuminated brand logo at the front.
The Golf GTI Clubsport, priced from 48,075 euros, delivers 300 hp (221 kW) and 400 Newton meters of torque. It has a front axle lock and a roof spoiler. The top speed, which is limited to 250 km/h, can be increased to 267 km/h with the optional race package.
The Golf R produces 333 hp (245 kW). That is 14 hp (10 kW) more than before. The saloon accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, the estate in 4.8 seconds. The top speed of 250 km/h can be increased to 270 km/h with the R-Performance package. This makes the two Golf Rs, alongside the Arteon R Shooting Brake, the world's fastest production vehicles from VW. The Golf R is available at prices from 53,795 euros, the R Estate from 55,065 euros. Volkswagen offers the all-black Golf R Black Edition for 58,440 euros. (aum)
