With over two dozen prominent actors and the winner of the Lego Hyperbattle, Peugeot sets sail for its Ocean Trophy on Sunday (June 2). The starting point is Athens, where the regatta will also end on June 8 - World Ocean Day. The sailing ships are also promoting a more sustainable world in the Aegean: it shows how environmentally conscious and low-emission travel works and draws attention to the protection of the environment and the oceans.
One of the fixed items on the program is once again a joint collection of plastic waste from the sea - until a car load for a Peugeot Expert has been collected. The waste is then taken to the local landfill site.
The captains of the all-star team are stars of the German and Austrian film world, including Hannes Jaenicke, Wotan Wilke Möhring and Simon Schwarz. They also took part last year. Actor and documentary filmmaker Hannes Jaenicke is the founder and chairman of the Pelorus Jack Foundation, which is dedicated to protecting the oceans. Other well-known participants are Peri Baumeister, Yasemin Centinkaya and Genija Rykova.
Marinepool is also on board as a partner this year. Founded in 1991 by two young sailing enthusiasts from Bavaria, the company is a leading manufacturer of maritime safety clothing and regularly supports maritime events. For the Peugeot Ocean Trophy, the entire sailing team will once again be equipped with the latest collection. The regatta will be accompanied by reportage teams from major German broadcasters who will regularly report on the course of the journey and draw attention to their cause. (aum)
