Preview: Of borders, alpenglow and seals
Opel is presenting an old acquaintance in a new guise. The Frontera will be unveiled next Tuesday in Istanbul. The choice of the premiere location on the Bosphorus is no coincidence, as the car, which will roll into the middle position between the Mokka and Grandland in the Rüsselsheim SUV trio, will be built in Turkey.
Skoda has refreshed the Octavia. The Czech bestseller is initially available in three engine/gearbox variants as a saloon and estate from 30,730 euros (estate plus 700 euros), later as an RS with up to 265 hp (195 kW) and now also uses Chat GTP for infotainment. Frank Wald also took a critical look at the new front end with the optional matrix headlights and the sustainable materials in the interior. Nissan has also given the Juke a facelift and updated it.
Even though Alpine is heading towards electric mobility with the A290, the sporty offshoot of the new Renault 5, the brand is open to technology. With the Alpenglow Hy4 concept car, the French are presenting a 5.20-meter-long test vehicle with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that runs on hydrogen. The 340 hp two-seater can reach speeds of up to 270 km/h. Peugeot is currently presenting one BEV after another: Brand boss Linda Jackson currently considers electric cars to be the best of all options, but also a path dictated by politics and not by technicians. In a roundtable discussion, she spoke about the future and the brand's strategy.
